Jessica King,
The White Dove Poet

I am a first-generation, late-diagnosed AuDHD health and dis/ability culture and justice activist. I participate in many organizations, projects, and endeavors that address oppression against disabilities and promotes disability inclusion in all conversations and environments.

I'm currently studying creative writing, comparative world literature, health humanities, and human development at Long Beach State University. My other academic interests include communication studies, linguistic and cultural anthropology, and neuropsychology.

As an entrepreneur, I strive to offer publication opportunities, educational resources, and affordable services that are holistic, inclusive, and accessible.

Testimonies from mentors,
partners, and colleagues:

I've been an educator for 11 years and have had the pleasure of working with thousands of amazing students. Jessica is probably the most passionate student I've ever met in regards to social justice. She is doing all that she can to serve as an advocate for disability rights and inclusion. She is the fierce social justice energizer bunny that keeps going because the work is so important.

– Alma Haidee Jongewaard, LIFE Project Coordinator

Not only has Jessica been an ally for disability advocacy through BMAC, but the fact she is doing so with a heart of gold. Anyone can be given the leadership title, but what matters is what she does with it. She is kind, resilient, and strong as she herself also goes above and beyond in her craft–while having disabilities herself. It truly inspires so many people as she makes a difference, heals the community, and strengthens the inclusivity initiative on campus as a community leader.

– Destiny Islas, Student President of Diabetes Link @ The Beach

Jessica King has been growing the presence of disability studies across campus... Disability is "the last frontier" of social injustice according to late disability studies scholar Tobin Siebers, and Jessica is at the fore of that work.

– Dr. Crystal Lie, Assistant Professor of Comparative World Literature
